brother and sister time

Garrett patiently teaching Addison to golf

I believe this is where I heard "Gaaaar I can do it all by myself!"

i love seeing this
then they tried to catch butterflies :)

some blue glass

so.. i see blogger is different now.  hummm.  i'll have to check that out.  I haven't been on here much lately.  Since we got back from our trip to Jax... and decided to Build a house... i spend a good bit of time now on Pinterest and houzz.com  collecting ideas and inspirations for home decor.  Love it!

but today i decided to do one of the Pinterest projects I've been wanting to try.  It was fun and fresh..
for spring!  i wanted to try painting glass to make it look vintage.
here is the link i used
1tsp Mod Podge + 2 drops blue food coloring + 1 drop green food coloring + 1/2 tsp. water.
it's pretty runny, but not dripping off.  i painted one even coat and let it dry.....
2 baby food jars that make perfect votive holders
                                            dollar store bowl

i just love how this came out... so pretty!
i set the votive jars on top of candle sticks.. i guess you can't see them well here.. but they look cute.
I also spray painted an old basket white for a fresh finish.
Then painted the mason jars turquoise.. love!

Easter evening with friends

We love celebrating with friends.
celebrating a holiday is no different.
Since we are rarely around our Ohio families during holiday times... we turn to our extended families that we have met along the way. They have adopted us and we have loved welcoming friends into our home for various holidays.

There is always alot of laughter, kids, food and fun!

this Easter was no different
such a great evening with friends..
thank you Kristyn!
not sure what we are laughing at..
but i thought it was a cute moment captured.
Micah and Willow... how cute!!
impressing her with his throwing skills!

well.. next year we won't be here in the "high dessert" for Easter.
Most likely our egg hunt won't be in the gusty winds.. but rather sunshine & humidity.
I would be lying if i said i wasn't excited.
But one thing is true... i will miss these friends, and others, so much.
looking forward to the"old" friends we will be meeting up with again..& new ones we will meet

Easter Morning Blues

After finding baskets and eggs... eating candy before 8am (Addison was caught throwing back some M&M's ... taking a shot out of her plastic egg!)... we actually made it to church.. the early service.
Truly an Easter Miracle

and look at these fabulous Easter outfits.. (best thing is i didn't have to shop for them.. they were waiting for me when we got back from our trip to Jax. love grandparents! .. i think i was supposed to iron them though.. HUH?)

i thought the kids looked so cute in their matching blues.. glad Garrett isn't too cool to put up a fight about matching Micah. He liked that... just not having to comb his hair!! LOL
handsome
beautiful

after church the kids did what they do best.. had fun being themselves.. with their friends
silly
Addie and "her" Lukie digging into some candy (note the matching blue.. she liked that)
excavating
Garrett and Kaden determined to continue their weekly exploring in "the hole"...
Easter clothes or not

Easter mantle

i was so good about getting this mantle done .. right after micah's birthday.. and before i left for Jacksonville. just wasn't so good about sharing.

so for today... Happy Easter!
Happy Pastels!
Happy Eggs and Candy!

and Above All.. Be Happy About The Resurrection!

i didn't use the ribbon and tulle tied to yarn like this... but thought it was cute for garland!

yep.. that's all i did... tie ribbon and tulle to yarn!! cute, right?
here's a quick how i made the wreath...
*i found this wreath at a thrift store for .99 :) thought it was great b/c it's oval.. EGG!
*it needed color.... found that i had 6 .. yes 6 pink tanks of various fabrics, sizes and length of time owned. i could spare one.

* i cut strips of the tank and wrapped it around, using hot glue to secure it.

*I tied the yarn around the wreath and wrapped it loosely around.

* tied some pearly eggs ...

* Just Love It!*

* i also Glittered some large eggs .. you can sort of see in this pic. They look pretty :)

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
