Rosette Wreath

This wreath is about as easy as it gets .. I promise!!

Here's what you need:
a grapevine wreath
small rosettes
wire cutters

Snip each rosette, leaving about 2 inches on the stem

Stick the rosettes in to the wreath.. they do not need fastened in any other way!

Very Spring, Right?

Boom.. 10 min.. Late Spring Wreath!!

now i need to tackle the flower beds... thinking fake flowers would be better there too.. LOL!
just kidding.

Easter Wreath

Wow Easter is late this year! I feel like we need it for Spring to officially start!
But I am ready with this cute wreath ;)
Super Easy.. here ya go!!

Supplies:
Wreath form, Burlap, Eggs, Easter grass, Ribbon to hang and a glue gun!
I chose this thicker, more boxy type.  I thought it might be better for placing the eggs... but I am sure you can use a rounder wreath form as well.
The burlap I had was cut into strips from a previous use... so I just took each strip and started wrapping.   I didn't wrap it tight so it would look full.  As I wrapped I just turned the burlap a little so it would give it different dimensions.   I hot glued (on low temp) the ends to the wreath form.
I added some Easter grass, hot gluing it on.

Side note... Does anyone else notice that you find Pine needles till Easter and Easter grass till..
oh say Halloween!?  geesh.  ok... rant over.

This little doll dressed in her matching dress to take a pic.. how could I not include!?

I finished it off with a loop of a ribbon to hang :)
Here is a picture of some of my dearest Navy wife friends in our squadron.  I love these ladies!!!  They have helped me oh so much through this first half of deployment... Laughs, Babysitting, Hanging Out, Wine Nights, An Encouraging Word, Late Night Texts and Drying Some Tears.  Deployment is only possible for me through Faith that Jesus holds me and Friends like this... and not to forget my awesome family and civilian friends too!!!

We made burlap wreaths back in the Fall and said we were going to do it again this Spring... it seemed so far away then... and Here. We. Are!!!!
Also love the uniqueness to them .. the wreaths and the friends!

Vino and Candy

Two of my favorite things…  wine and candy :)
ok, really i think the candy hearts are gross and taste like chalk.. but they are cute for decorating!

So i put my kids to work…  and YES my 2 oldest kiddos can use a glue gun!!  i believe in teaching life coping skills.. and who couldn't fix the world with a glue gun!?

Well… let's be clear here.  I shared the wine with my girl friends during the bachelor!  (not the kids).  And i wrapped them with the yarn (quicker than the kids).

Little guy decided he wanted to do one.. so i came up with his "special" project :)

.. and he came up with his own "special" project!

Addie's master piece… "Fun and Whimsical"

Garrett's masterpiece… "Love thought out"

Micah's masterpiece… "I'm just too cute!"

I just love these little buggers!!

Duct tape is Awesome!

Garrett loves Duct Tape.
He has a bag full of different designs.
He makes some really cool things... especially wallets and purses.
He taught himself.
He asks if he can rent out empty stores for his business.
He is so creative and I love it!

He started making these wallets a little over a year ago when we were visiting family in Ohio.  Everyone loved them.  So what does Garrett do??  He sets off to make everyone one.  He takes orders.  He charges $3!!!  and.... he gets paid!  Plus, He takes his grandparents shopping for more Duct Tape so .. uh yeah, He doesn't pay for it.  So he's making Pure profit!  I didn't take one business class in college... but I'm pretty sure that's a very good business model!

He also likes to make these for his friends for gifts.  This is what he made for his teacher of last year.  He still stops by her room almost daily to say "Hi!" and check in.  She still encourages him and pushes him to do his best.  It's great!!

She's a Gator's fan... obviously!

purse and wallet

inside pockets of the wallet... he even makes a "id window" with clear tape!

change pocket

my little business man!... and thoughtful kid!!
He's open for orders.... :)

Window Flower Box for my Princess

Addie has said over and over that she wants flowers outside her window.. so when she looks outside she can see the pretty flowers and look for the fairies.  *yes, this is her world and I just live in it*   Since I can barely to remember to water my flowers on my front porch... I figure remembering to take care of flowers on the side of the house probably isn't going to happen.  But.. I think I succeeded in giving this girlie a flower garden .. without the hassle of maintenance.

Pretty proud of this little flower box.. more so because I just decided to do it and actually did it all in the same day!  Small Victories!

I used pallet wood- but this time didn't have to cut each piece slooooowly with a little hand saw.  I used this baby!  Matt's Father's Day gift :)  hehehehe

OH MY GOSH!  Why didn't I get this for "Matt" sooner!!  Zip Zip and I was done, with pretty decent cuts.  Rough, yes, but it works for what it is.   I nailed the sides together.. somewhat challenging (next "he's" getting a nail gun!)  then dusted off the saw dust and got out the spray paint!  (I did not even bother sanding it.)

I put some that green floral Styrofoam stuff at the bottom and put flowers in it for her.

I'm hoping she doesn't need to pick them.. that foam stuff crumbles and makes such a mess!  ;)

A happy little flower box.. she's happy... I'm happy.

Right?! Purple and Pink and Princess!!
and a happy little flower box

Ribbon Wreath

I made these wreaths a few weeks back, for end of school gifts for our teachers.  While I don't love the colors (the team!) here... I DO love how they turned out!! And I can't wait to make another.. in more appropriate colors :)

Ribbon Wreath- Florida Gators

lots and lots and LOTS of loops!

I chose ribbons with different patterns on it and made loops of different sizes
I think the little gator is cute!

Instead of a bow, I used silver sparkly (it needed a little glitter!) tule and placed a wooden F that I painted over top
Garrett and Mrs. Hughes   &   Addie and Mrs. Russell
love them!!
we had a great year!

wow, this is a bad quality pic.. so i'll say in person.. it looked awesome on the wall!

A gift

A very dear friend of mine went through a tough time this spring.  It's been said that my love language is giving gifts, especially homemade ones.  I know it isn't much, but it was something I could do for her to know that she and her family are loved.

In Memory Of Luke Virgil... Born already in Jesus' arms, where he will wait for his mama, daddy, and four beautiful siblings to meet him some day.. Oh Glorious Day!

This verse embodies my friend's amazing faith and trust throughout.  She truly gave thanks for God's provisions and had hope in a new day.

I am blessed to know her and call her my friend.

A pretty flower & glass beads

I am not sure what got into me today.. I completed 4 (yes 4!) projects!!!  and started 2 more ;)   What in the world??  I know!  But I am pretty thrilled since they have been calling to me for a long time now.  Nothing major.  Very Easy actually.  But satisfying none the less :)

I thought I would share one now.

This porch furniture was a steal for me on craig's list.  It is in excellent condition (I can't even justify spray painting it, so you know it's good).  Some new cushions and and we were golden.  *i still need some fun pillows though.  Anyway, the glass table tops lift up, easy to clean up Popsicle mess .. not that I would know.. <sarcastic>.

I have seen the glass beaded table tops on Pinterest and just love them!  And the very nature of these tables just says "put glass beads under the glass... they fit perfectly!"  So I did.

I had a pretty helper.

We (i) lined them all up.. in true OCD fashion, and placed the glass on top.

Lucky for me the glass fits snug right on top.  It holds the beads in place.  No mess with the thick fillers (I couldn't go that route anyway because of the grooves).  I didn't want to glue the beads onto the table.. you never know when a change might strike!  I can see kids art work, leaves, Christmas cards... all finding their way here.

The smaller table is home to a very beautiful yellow flower.  I hope of all plants I try to keep alive, this could be one of them.  The kids got this for me a few weeks ago when we were at a nursery looking at palm trees.  Garrett took Addie and Micah for a ride on one of those waggon carts you are supposed to fill up with flowers.  It was one of those rare *sigh.. they are all laughing and getting along moments.  People were telling us how cute they were.. and I believed them! lol.

Soon they came back to me and told me not to go anywhere near the place where you pay.  And not to look up in the front where the yellow flowers were ;)

Their plan was thwarted a bit when a sales person came up to me to tell me how much just one flower would be.  I think she thought I sent my minions up to her to ask.  Garrett was devastated that she ruined the surprise.  However.. I am a thespian and I "acted my part well" and convinced them I didn't know what the lady was talking about.

They smuggled it into the truck (next to a palm!)  and gave it to me when we got home.

They chose yellow because it is my favorite color.
Addie used her "cash" in her purse to buy it.
It's pretty much better than any dozen... ever.

Lanai Update

I often joke that I want to sit out on my lanai and eat cheesecake to solve the problem at hand by using stories from "back in St. Oloff".. like the Golden Girls of course :)   Well, come to think of it, I have sat out here (I'm enjoying it right now!) so many times with my family, chatting on the phone with my sister, getting to know some new friends over a glass of wine or coffee... and it's my favorite place to craft :)   We love this area of our house, it's an extra room for us since we can use it practically year around.  ... the "winter" in FL usually allows for it to be used in the day and the hot humid summers often only allow it to be relaxing really early in the morning or really late at night.

Still, it's pretty perfect.

This week I've done a few summer like upgrades .. it feels so cozy and beachy!!!

banner
I saw these napkins at World Market. I didn't know what I was going to do with them yet (I did know we were not going to be wiping bbq sauce mouths with them though!)
Love the colors. The beachy prints. And they were on sale.
I tied the napkins to some rope using thin twine.

I used small command hooks on the sides of the aluminum frame (discovered it was aluminum after my first idea didn't work.. magnets. Uh!)  I used the ones with a toggling hook so it allows for some movement with the wind.

It's hard to get all three windows!

Seriously, look how well they match!

Also at World Market I found these FUN lanterns!  They are really light.. so I'm hoping the Command hook will keep these babies up there!
I tied the rope to the hook on the lantern and then another knott in the other end where I looped it through a hook extender (also World Market) so it could hang from the ceiling.

Who's coming over to hang out with me??
Cheesecake, wine and coffee :)
(ok, probably just wine..)
