Micah's 1st hair cut

Why was it so difficult for me to pull the trigger on getting Micah's hair cut?  With Garrett I did it probably before he even needed it .. just out of excitement for another "first".  and I guess that right there is the reason.. Micah's firsts are most likely my "last firsts".. and they are coming too fast!  and it is getting so hard!  What's a mama to do?!  Well, I used this first to practice with my new camera.. or maybe i used the camera to hide behind. Whatever the reason, he did a great job and he looks super cute!

Micah update and how we kept busy

What a difference a week makes!!  Last week we were at the doctor, getting a sad diagnosis... And this week, we have our Micah back!
Happy now. I love how he puts his hands in his pockets!

He was such a sad guy for the weekend and beginning of the week; so lathargic and miserable.
breathing treatments
After he got to the point where he didn't want held all the time and would get down to play, I decided I needed something to keep me busy since we were home bound for the week. So to Lowe's we went.. for paint!
yes, I am that mom now.. but it kept them busy while i decided on the right "happy yellow"
By Wednesday I was suffering from cabin fever. Micah kept asking to go "bye bye" too.. :)  The weather was a perfect 70 and sunny (reminded me of Coronado!) So we hit the sidewalks going for a run and quite a few walks. He just loves being outside and the fresh air seemed the best medicine.
what chu talkin bout willis?
He finally got his appetite back .... and his personality was not far behind!
pudding would make me feel better too!
By the end of the week were were enjoying the weather.. oh and our time stuck at home!
love this guy so much
Here we are today.. it was 81 while we were at Garrett's flag football game.  Not sure the boys loved running around in the hot weather, but we loved it from the sidelines!

and the painting... it's coming along nicely!  we have been wanting to paint our living room since we moved in.  I am sick of looking at the beige walls.  The clashed so bad with our beautiful teal kitchen nook.. now the teal and the gray are together and it is so much better for the eyes!  We also decided to paint the laundry room before putting up the cabinets Matt has ready to install.. that was the "happy yellow" Lowe's trip.
I told you we were busy!!

thanks for all your prayers and thoughts for Micah!

Plans Changed

What is more fun than unpacking from a trip to two grandparents' houses at Christmas time (read "car full of spoiled grandchildren fun") ?? .... Adding to the mix one very sick little boy!  Ok so "fun" is not the correct word at all, but you catch my drift.  Poor Micah started feeling pretty crummy right before we left Ohio, where we visited family after Christmas for a week.  Actually I was hoping to post some fun pictures of our trip this weekend, but alas, plans changed.

Because when you have a sick kid... Everything changes.

Your heart just hurts and aches for them.  It's hard feeling helpless - to not be able to make it better.  It's even worse, I think, when they are so small and can't quite tell you what's hurting them. Micah managed to tell me "All done. All done ouch."...  In the most pathetic sounding voice you ever heard. It broke my heart.  The poor guy managed to tough it out through a 14 hour car ride over two days and I was so thankful for that.  I didn't want to stop somewhere along the way to pay a visit to the ER.
Trying to relax
resting in the hotel.. sad!

I just wanted to make it to our home.  We did.. On Friday night.  So Saturday we paid a visit to a local ER.  Jacksonville friends... If you ever need to go to an urgent care might I suggest Crucial Care.    It is a fully staffed and equipped ER, without having to go to the ER.  It feels like a private doctor's office, not like a hospital.  The staff is so friendly and attentive. They even brought me a blanket and offered coffee or tea and water cold or room temp!! For a moment I thought I was at the spa! Lol.  Seriously though, I have had to take Micah there two times because he likes to need medical care on the weekends, and both times I have been very pleased with the care and service.

So my poor baby has tested positive for RSV, RSV pneumonia , plus had double ear infections and pink eye! Hot mess to say the least.  Breathing treatments have helped him and antibiotics have stopped him from pulling on his ears.  He's still a snot mess and just has that sick look to him. He is so sad and pathetic to look at.

I never got that run in outside like I was thinking about while in the below freezing temps in Ohio. But I did "run" to the store and pharmacy about 6 times.  I didn't get to unpack completely or take down my Christmas decorations.  But I did get to spend some extra time in comfy clothes and log some snuggle time that is rare for this fast moving boy. I didn't go to church today.  But God and I have talked a lot this weekend.

The start of my new year sure changed.  But, when you have a sick kid, everything changes.

entrepreneur. fashionista. mover.

Today i had to laugh at the roles each kid took....

Garrett. (aka.. alex p. keaton) =  Entrepreneur
This morning he was getting ready to walk out the door for school when he remembered something that seemed important.  He ran upstairs and back.. he had a plain white undershirt with him.  He started putting it in his backpack.. which could mean any number of things.  I certainly didn't expect this answer though.  He said he was bringing it for a friend because they need to wear white shirts for their choir show next week.  (apparently his friend said he didn't think he had a plain white shirt.)   Oh yes, how sweet.  Garrett offers to bring him one.... except there is a catch.  He told me his friend was going to pay him for it!!!  what??  oh my!  So calmly i told him it was nice he wanted to help his friend, but he did not need to pay him for it.  End of story, right? no.  we get in the car and Garrett is still thinking about it.  "What are you thinking about?" i ask, looking at him in the rear view mirror.  "Well.  we kind of already made a deal.  I am bringing the shirt and he is going to pay me a dollar."  "oh, well that's nice hun.. but really he doesn't need to pay you for it," i told him.  He comes back with.. "well.. i figured a dollar would be good since we only paid like 6 bucks for the whole pack."  oh my!   I can only imagine the conversation that took place.. probably on the playground.. about the white Haines shirt Garrett would provide to anyone who needed one for the concert .. for a dollar.

He did not come home with a dollar.... so i'm not sure where the transaction fell apart!  LOL.

My young business man also has "a job" to which he is very proud.  He is picking up dog poo for a friend of mine who just doesn't like doing that (can't imagine why).  The first week he did this.. he came home from school, and grabbed a quick snack where he said "i have to go to my job" no fewer than 5 times, in 5 different ways.  Very important sounding.  Then he ran up to change... he came down in jean shorts and a T.  I asked if he changed and he said Yes.. He took off his comfy shorts and put jeans on ... he didn't want his comfy ones to smell like poo!  LOL.  He was happy to do his job and thrilled to get his envelope of payment.
Then last week we couldn't go.
Today he asked if he could go to him job tomorrow.  "sure" i said.  He said.... "well, i will just take one weeks pay since she couldn't have me last week.  i won't make her pay for it."   ........ trying not to laugh because he was super serious... i told him "that's kind of you."

Addison = Fashionista
Addie is so into fashion.  Loves to dress up.  change. change again.  and maybe again.  she loves jewelry... lots of it.  hair accessories are a must.  She loves shoes.  She always has at least one purse.
So today she got ready for playgroup and told me she was a fashion girl and wanted me to take her picture.  First she had to debate over the sandals with the jewels or the pink ones with the heals.
she chose jewels.

Micah = Mover

Micah has been making us laugh so much lately.  He is so annimated.  He's walking pretty much exclusively now.  He is trying so hard to keep up with big brother and sister that he often falls down.  but he gets right back up.  He pushes his little car around and Addie's doll stroller all day long...

it's messy

I AM feeling so sad today.

it's micah. i don't want him to turn ONE! i'm having a hard time knowing my baby boy is soon going to be toddling around. and before long we'll be able to know what he is trying to tell us instead of his cute jibberish.

maybe i'm sad that before too long.. he'll be a "big kid" and do big kid things. he already follows his big sister and brother around and laughs like crazy at them. soon he will be one of them... and not the baby.

for now though i should focus on .. he's not there yet :) this proves it -

i usually don't give him the spoon...

there is a good reason for that...

what???

he's the third kid.. i'm passed the mess...

ohhhhh but he's Cute!

maybe a little mess is ok..

yep. he's cute.

my cute mess.
